# Browse Malaysian Music by Genre on Diskograf

> Explore the songs tagged with each Malaysian music genre on Diskograf.

Genre is one way into the Diskograf catalogue. You can open a genre from the Genres index or select a genre tag on a song page.

## Finding genres

Open the Genres index from the main navigation to see the genres represented in the catalogue. Each genre links to a dedicated page.

Genres are also visible on song and artist pages. Selecting a genre tag opens its catalogue page.

## What a genre page shows

A genre page includes:

* The genre name and song count
* A grid of songs tagged with that genre
* Pagination for browsing more songs

The genre page does not include a separate artist directory, label roster, or role filter. Use the [Songs](/browse/songs) page when you need the broader song filters.

## Combine a genre with other filters

From the Songs page, select one or more genres in the filter bar. You can then search the filtered results with supported tokens such as `artist:`, `label:`, `year:`, and `decade:`.

For example, select **Pop** in the genre filter and search:

artist:sheila decade:2000
```

This narrows the song grid to the selected genre, an artist matching "sheila", and releases from the 2000s.

## Missing or incorrect genres

If a song is tagged incorrectly or a genre is missing, open the song and choose **Suggest an edit**. See [Credits](/contribute/credits) for the contribution standards.
