# Maintain Your Linked Artist Profile on Diskograf

> Link your artist identity and maintain your own stage name, aliases, biography, collaborators, and public profile details on Diskograf.

An artist profile brings an artist's works and credits together. If you are the artist, you can link that profile to your Diskograf account and maintain the details that describe your public identity.

## What an artist profile can include

Depending on the information available, a linked artist profile can include:

* **Stage name** and aliases
* **Group or solo type**
* **Profile image**
* **Biography** and primary job
* **Location, birthplace, and birth date**
* **Collaborators** and associated acts
* **Social and music-service links**
* **Works and credit roles** from the catalogue

## Link or create your artist identity

You do not add arbitrary artist profiles from the public artist directory. To set up your own identity, follow [Link Your Artist Profile](/identity/claiming-profile). You can search for an existing artist or create a new artist identity from onboarding or profile settings.

Search before creating a new identity. Check aliases and alternate spellings so you do not create a duplicate profile.

## Update your own profile

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open profile settings">
    Sign in, open your public profile, and choose **Edit profile**. You can also open `/profile` directly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Update your artist details">
    Update the fields that describe your linked artist identity, such as the stage name, aliases, group type, biography, collaborators, location, and social links.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the changes">
    Save the profile. A stage-name change updates the artist name anywhere that profile is used in song credits.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Correct song information

Artist profile details and song data use different entry points:

* Use **Suggest an edit** on a published song to correct its title, credits, release information, genres, labels, artwork, lyrics, notes, or links.
* Use **Claim credit** to add your linked artist identity and roles to an existing song.
* Use [Adding Songs](/contribute/adding-songs) when the song is missing from the catalogue.

The public artist page does not provide a general artist-profile editor for ordinary contributors. Only update the artist identity linked to your own account.
