# How to Contribute to the Diskograf Music Catalogue

> Learn how to add songs, claim your credits, and suggest corrections to the Diskograf music catalogue.

Diskograf is built by people who care about Malaysian music. You can add a missing song, claim your own credit, or suggest a correction when you find information that needs attention.

## Getting access

You need a free Diskograf account to contribute. Sign in with Google, complete onboarding, and choose a username and display name before you start.

Any registered user can add a song or suggest an edit. If you choose **Artist**, you must link an existing artist profile or create one before you can claim credits.

New songs are private while they are under review. Existing song edits are attributed to your account and appear in the song's contribution history.

## Community standards

Diskograf works because contributors hold themselves to a shared standard of accuracy. When you contribute, keep the following in mind:

* **Only add factual, verifiable information.** Every credit and every detail should be something you can point to — a physical release, a streaming platform, an official liner note, or a credible published source.
* **Only claim your own artist identity and work.** Do not link your account to an artist profile that does not represent you.
* **Fix errors you find.** If you notice a wrong credit, a misspelled name, or an incorrect release year, use **Suggest an edit** on the song page.
* **When in doubt about a credit, leave it blank.** An empty field is more honest than a guess. You — or someone else — can come back once the information is confirmed.

<Tip>
  Start with a credit you know is wrong or missing. Use a reliable source, check the role carefully, and submit only what you can support.
</Tip>
